We arrived late in the afternoon to this little town which was half way around the Ring of Kerry. The rain did not stop all day and as we drive around the 2 streets of the town to find a place to stay we ended up choosing a place called ‘The Butlers Arms Hotel’. An old and very cute hotel with everything you need in the 1 place, Hotel, Bar, Pub, Restaurants, Pool Room, Lounge Room and the all important ‘Ladies Room.’ A room for only ladies with a gorgeous little powder room alongside it which also had this old fashioned small couch to relax on while you powder your nose. The hotel was full with people and also a very popular hotel with professional golfers, such as Tiger Woods. There was an amazing golf course across the road and the views of the ocean were great. A shame we could not see much cause of all the rain and fog.
Rachael and l took the time to have some dinner, relax and prepare for the next day. The tourism office in Killarney also recommended we go to Valentia Island as the views are meant to be really nice so that was the first stop in the morning and then continue around the Ring of Kerry.
